Dadu Golf Course

Datun Golf Course, nestled at the foot of Datun Mountain in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, has been a quintessential challenging golf course for players in northern Taiwan since its establishment in 1974 and the full opening of its 18-hole standard course in 1987.

The course was personally designed by Chen Chin-shih, renowned as the "Father of Taiwanese Golf." His core design philosophy was to maximize adaptation to and preservation of the original slopes and native forest vegetation of Datun Mountain, making the entire course resemble a natural painting embedded in a serene valley.

Technically, Datun Golf Course boasts a par 72 configuration and a total length of approximately 6,741 yards. While not a heavy-hitting course known for its long distances, it is famous for its highly challenging narrow fairways and dense tree configurations. In particular, the numerous out-of-bounds (OB) stakes on the right side of the fairways pose a severe technical challenge for players accustomed to hitting slices, demanding that shot strategy prioritize high accuracy rather than simply relying on distance output.

In addition to the challenging playing experience, Datun Golf Club's comprehensive facilities are also a major highlight, including a clubhouse restaurant offering authentic Chinese cuisine, comfortable men's and women' changing rooms and showers, and professional golf equipment and gear selection services. Although the course does not have a standard driving range, its convenient location and excellent geographical environment, surrounded by mountains and water, allow golfers to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the sea and sky while playing. It successfully combines competitive challenges with leisurely recreation, making it a golf sanctuary rich in cultural heritage and strategic depth.
