Orient Star Golf Course, formerly known as Chihpao Golf Course and Orient Sunrise Golf Course, is located in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County. The course is only about a ten-minute drive from Hsinchu Science Park and the Baoshan Interchange of National Freeway No. 3, making it extremely convenient to access. The course was officially completed in 1999, covering an area of over a hundred hectares, with eighteen international-standard holes. It is a high-quality recreational course that combines natural beauty with a highly strategic design, and has long been favored by golf enthusiasts in northern Taiwan and Hsinchu.
The fairways are built to follow the natural undulating terrain of the Baoshan area, with the overall environment retaining a large amount of original forest and rich natural ecology. During a round, golfers can admire the magnificent mountain views of Daba Mountain and Wuzhi Mountain, with the expansive vistas creating a refreshing experience. In addition to the beautiful scenery, the course design is also ingenious. The wide fairways may seem friendly, but the greens are cleverly surrounded by scattered bunkers and water hazards, coupled with the varied and undulating terrain of the greens, severely testing golfers' precision and club selection strategy.
This classic venue, which once accompanied countless tech elites and golfers through countless rounds, has officially ceased operations and suspended all golf course services due to business planning adjustments and land development transformation. Although it is no longer possible to play a round here, its unique circular building and pine-lined fairways remain deeply etched in the memories of many Taiwanese golfers.
