Located in the hilly area of Luzhu District, Taoyuan City, Yung Han Golf Club covers an area of approximately 76 hectares. It is a unique course with a strong Scottish links style. The creation of this course stemmed from the late founder and renowned entrepreneur, Mr. Chiu Yung-Han's deep love for the birthplace of golf – St. Andrews Old Course. To recreate this most original spirit of golf in Taiwan, the course deliberately deviates from the common forest or garden-style landscapes and fairway layouts found in Taiwan, creating one of the very few courses in Taiwan with tree-free fairways.
The eighteen fairways wind through undulating hills, with fairways naturally separated only by rough areas. Without the obstruction of tall trees, the view is extremely expansive. On clear days, you can even enjoy distant views of the coastline and beautiful sunsets. However, this extremely open design also makes "wind" the most elusive variable and greatest challenge when hitting the ball.
Especially on days with strong northeast monsoons in winter, the course reveals a particularly wild side. The strong winds rigorously test golfers' ability to hit low-trajectory, wind-resistant shots, as well as their precise judgment of wind direction and distance. However, on clear, windless days, Yung Han Golf Course is relatively friendly. There is no typical knee-high rough, and the bunkers are not the daunting, high-walled bowl-shaped design. Coupled with the fact that the overall yardage is not particularly long, it allows amateur golfers to enjoy a completely different kind of swinging pleasure here. Yung Han Golf Club stands out among Taiwan's many golf courses with its unique Scottish wilderness atmosphere and highly natural and challenging design.
