Formosa First Golf Course is located in Luzhu District, Taoyuan City, boasting a prime location with excellent accessibility. It is a short drive from both Taoyuan International Airport and Taoyuan HSR Station, making it one of northern Taiwan's most iconic golf courses. The course officially opened in 1989 (the 78th year of the Republic of China) and was previously known as "Tunghwa Golf Course." After a management transformation, it was rebranded as Formosa First. For many years, it has earned high acclaim from both domestic and international golfers for its international-standard facilities and excellent management quality.
This championship-level course features eighteen holes with a par of seventy-two and a total length exceeding seven thousand yards. The course design is heavily influenced by American golf culture, characterized by its grand and expansive terrain with magnificent landscape features. The meticulously manicured fairways and landscape plantings along both sides create a three-dimensional hitting corridor. The fairways are of moderate width, allowing golfers to swing freely when teeing off. However, the strategically placed bunkers and the undulating greens pose the biggest threats during approach shots, demanding high levels of precision, landing spot judgment, and putting skills from golfers.
In recent years, Formosa First Golf Course has actively engaged with international professional golf tournaments, hosting TLPGAs and other women's professional tours annually. The turf maintenance and green speeds are maintained at exceptionally high standards, making it not only a proving ground for professional athletes but also an excellent green space for amateur golfers to hone their skills. Furthermore, the course offers superb panoramic views, allowing players to admire the magnificent scenery of the Linkou Plateau while playing. With its comprehensive clubhouse facilities and thoughtful course services, it is not just a battlefield for enjoying golf, but also an ideal leisure destination for corporate entertainment, team gatherings, and relaxing exercise.
