Feng Yuan Golf Club is situated on the Gonglaoping Plateau, east of Taichung City, at an elevation of approximately 400 meters. Since its official establishment in 1962, it has played a leading role in the development of golf in Central Taiwan. It is not only the oldest golf course in the Taichung area but also an important cradle that has nurtured numerous outstanding Taiwanese professional golfers (such as famous players Tu Ah-yu and Chung Chun-hsing).
The course is located on a plateau with a pleasant climate, warm in winter and cool in summer. In winter, it is not affected by strong, cold northeast monsoon winds, making it ideal for golfing year-round. Beyond the game, the course offers excellent elevated views. On clear days, you can gaze across the entire Taichung Basin and even take in the magnificent scenery of the distant coastline.
Feng Yuan Golf Course measures 6,215 yards in length. While not particularly long by modern standards, it is highly challenging. More than sixty varied bunkers are scattered across the eighteen fairways. The front and back nine holes are cleverly arranged with fountains, waterfalls, and multiple pond landscapes. These water hazards and bunkers not only greatly enhance the course's scenic beauty but also put golfers' landing accuracy and club selection strategies to the test. This is not only a golfing haven that combines competition and leisure, but its nature as a non-profit civic organization club also imbues this sixty-year-old course with a pure passion for promoting the sport of golf.
